Sustaining People, Landscapes and Communities in a changing world (Beechworth 5 May 2009)    

An after dinner presentation to the Alpine Valleys Agribusiness Forum, attended by local farmers and leaders from local government and catchment organisations in north-east Victoria and the Riverina.  It explores the challenges for both agriculture and natural resource management and proposes a reform agenda that could capture the opportunities inherent in the current flux and crises.

Learning to live like Australians:  reflections on the Victorian Bushfires (Canberra 24.3.09)

Seminar for the Crawford School of Economics and Government, Australian National University (ANU).  A discussion reflecting on the multiple drivers behind the ferocity and impact of the fires, the community and media reaction to them, and their public policy implications.  The presentation is here, and a video of it can be found here (go to 24 March, then scroll down about half way).   A more detailed discussion of these fires and further information can be found here.
